Forensic and Clinical Psychologist
Dr. Jennifer Marshall, Ph.D., is a forensic and clinical psychologist in the DC Metro area. She is a forensic evaluator for both criminal and civil matters, and has over 20 years of experience providing clinical, evidence-based treatment interventions and evaluations for a broad spectrum of patients.
Originally from Upstate New York, Jennifer Marshall attended Mercyhurst College (now recognized as Mercyhurst University) in Pennsylvania, where she received degrees in both Biology and Psychology. She then attended Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, where she earned a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology. While working towards her masters, Dr. Marshall had a six month internship at a maximum security prison in Pittsburgh. Her work in the special needs unit there, working with inmates with developmental disabilities, severe chronic mental illness or traumatic brain injury, further ignited her interest in Forensic Psychology. After completing her degree she went on to earn her doctoral degree in clinical psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology in 1998.
Range of Experience
Dr. Marshall has over 20 years of experience as a clinical psychologist and has provided clinical, evidence-based treatment interventions and evaluations for a broad spectrum of patients to include but not limited to adult, adolescent and children inpatients and outpatients, veterans and forensic populations. She is a forensic evaluator for both criminal and civil matters. She has significant experience conducting custody evaluations, parental capacity evaluations, violence risk assessments, psychosexual assessments, fitness for duty evaluations with law enforcement personnel, competency evaluations and criminal responsibility evaluations.
Dr. Marshall also serves as parent coordinator, reunification therapist and offers parent coaching. She is well versed in the unique factors present in divorce cases with military personnel. She has significant clinical supervisory experience and has served as the Director of an APA accredited predoctoral and postdoctoral psychology training programs. She is the owner of her private practice with locations in Herndon and Woodbridge, Virginia. In her prior role as a forensic coordinator she was responsible for all aspects of treatment planning for forensic inpatients patients. She also provided consultation and training on trauma informed to treatment care interventions.
